Removal of redundant motorised blinds and the provisional of walk-on netting access.

A particularly challenging contract to overcome with the need to keep one of Europe’s busiest shopping complex’s open whilst undertaking urgent remedial works to the glass structure.

Rope access technicians installed walk on netting suspended and tied to the existing steel structure which allowed a specialist contractor to supply and install a 175 Micron 2 ply glass containment window film and retention system to all critical areas of the centre used by the public (This prevents any glass panels following from the structure with obvious consequences for anyone using the centre).

All works were executed out with normal working hours and careful programming and liaison with other contractors working in the centre had to be employed.
