Skyform were awarded the contract to undertake roof coverings and waterproofing works for Dandara in Aberdeen. Skyform are an approved applicator on various industry led manufacturer systems although on this occasion the specification was for a SIKA Plastics Product.

Works consisted of:

• Existing concrete deck area to be primed then new S/A vapour control layer
• Liquid Plastics System Application
• Install hard edge timbers to box gutter outlets areas
• Install new 1900mm Decotherm boards by bonding to new vapour control system with Decostik
• Apply coat of Primer to Decotherm boards
• Lay new S/A Carrier Membrane
• Apply base coat to new carrier membrane
• Liquid Plastics top coat
• All termination points sealed with PU sealant.

The materials incorporated in this Skyform project were:

• Decothane Liquid Plastics
• Reemat Premium
• Primer 600
• S/VAP 5000
• S/A Carrier Membrane
• Decostik Sp
• 160 & 60mm Decotherm Boards

Safety Measures were implemented to ensure the smooth and safe running of the project, i.e.

• PPE; Hard Hats, Steel toe boots, hi viz uniform i.e. jacket, trousers and vest
• Hot works permits
• Roof edge protection to prevent falls from height
• Fire extinguishers in working areas
• Regular site audits/inspections
