Aberdeen City Council awarded Skyform the contract to undertake a 16 week project which consisted of the EWI, re-roofing and re-rendering of 15 no properties, 7 in Phase 1 and 8 in Phase 2.

However due to variations issued on behalf of the client both phases shall require increased cover to the roofing as when initially stripped the sarking and fibreboard was of poor quality.

Additional works have been instructed and are currently underway with an extension of time being granted to cover the changes to the fully boarded alternative roofing specification.

Skyform’s in house labour have carried out the works under the supervision of Site Manager Pat Doherty and the contract was managed by Paul Miller.

Works Consisted of:

  • Removal and disposal of all existing; roof tiles, flat roof membrane, sarking board, fascia, downpipes and gutters.
  • Installation of new pitched roofs and fascia incorporating changes to spec
  • Marley Concrete roof tiling with counter battens
  • Application of liquid applied waterproof roof coating, Icopal Elastoflex system
  • Installation of Structherm EWI & Render system mechanically fixed with aluminium track
  • Installation of Bird/Vermin Control measures; Insect mesh applied to porch roof, windows, sills/boarding.
  • The Blocks were fully scaffolded out with space for material loading areas.
